Inspiration

As with every project, nature is my main source of inspiration. It is full of intricate patterns, harmonious colour palettes and a sense of balance that we all strive to replicate in our work and use as a benchmark of perfection. Nature is beautiful, and it is wonderful to discover it. I explore nature physically or virtually via Cosmos.

Design Philosophy

When I first started creating my personal website, I wanted to fill it with vibrant animations, cutting-edge designs and intricate interactions.

However, after some thought, I decided to embrace simplicity, functionality and user-friendliness — qualities that are deeply rooted in the essence of Italian design: effortlessly elegant and inherently accessible.

The site embraces the JAMstack philosophy—pre-built, secure, and globally distributed through a CDN.

No tracking, no cookies, no bloat—just fast, accessible web content delivered efficiently.

Built with

When choosing my tools, I gravitated toward technologies that mirror my design philosophy — elegant in their simplicity, powerful in their execution.

I chose Astro as the foundation, drawn to its philosophy of shipping zero JavaScript by default. There's something refreshing about a framework that doesn't assume you need complexity when simplicity will do.

For content management, Keystatic felt like the natural choice — a type-safe CMS that treats content as code, eliminating the friction between writing and publishing. Markdoc handles the rich text editing, bringing structure to creativity.

Where interactivity is truly needed, React components come into play, following Astro's islands architecture — functionality where it matters, silence where it doesn't.

The development happens primarily in Visual Studio Code and Zed, while ideas take shape through wireframes in Figma before becoming reality.

Colors

The colour palette draws inspiration from a modern aesthetic, combining dark and light shades to create an appealing visual contrast.

The colours were discovered and refined using Coolors.co, an excellent tool for generating harmonious colour schemes.

Typography

The website uses a simple, clean typography stack to enhance readability and user experience.

The main font used is Satoshi, a modernist sans serif typeface. Its design combines typically grotesk-style letterforms, with some characters that are quite geometrically-designed.

In terms of its appearance, Satoshi was inspired by Modernism and Industrial-Era graphic and typographic design.

Satoshi was designed by Deni Anggara for the Indian Type Foundry.

Source Code

Although I strongly believe in open-source projects, the source code of my personal website is not publicly available. I decided not to open-source it because I believe a personal website should reflect its creator's unique identity and vision. I am not a designer, and I crafted this website in my spare time — not over countless hours, but over a few days. I'm sure you can do the same ;-)
